FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where do you shoot?
I’m based in Point Vernon, QLD, and most of my studio sessions take place in my comfortable home studio. I also offer outdoor sessions at beautiful local spots like Toogoom Beach and throughout the Fraser Coast.
I regularly travel across Queensland and into northern New South Wales for sessions and weddings—so whether you’re planning something local or a little further away, I’d love to be there!
If you have a specific location in mind, feel free to reach out. A travel fee may apply for areas outside my local zone, but I’m always happy to provide a custom quote.
Not sure where to shoot? I can suggest locations that best suit your style and vision.
How long does it take to receive the final photos?
For weddings, the turnaround time is typically 4–6 weeks.
For portraits and all other sessions, you can expect your final images within 2–3 weeks.
Please note that during peak times, additional processing time may be required — I’ll always keep you updated along the way!
What do we wear?
The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident! I usually recommend neutral tones, soft colours, and simple patterns—these photograph beautifully and help keep the focus on you and your connection.
For families or group sessions, try to coordinate outfits rather than match exactly. Think of choosing a colour palette (like earthy tones, pastels, or muted blues) and building everyone’s outfit around that.
Avoid large logos, neon colours, or super busy patterns, as they can be distracting in photos.
Need a little extra help? I offer a client wardrobe with a selection of beautiful pieces for maternity, families, children, and men. You’re welcome to borrow from it for your session—just let me know, and I can show you what’s available!
I'm pregnant, when should I book in my maternity and newborn session?
For maternity sessions, I recommend booking when you’re around 12–20 weeks pregnant, with the shoot scheduled between 27–36 weeks. This is the perfect window—your bump is beautifully round, and you're usually still feeling pretty comfortable moving around.
For newborn sessions, it's best to book while you're still pregnant—ideally sometime in your second trimester. We’ll pencil in your due date, and once baby arrives, we can lock in the exact date. I usually aim to photograph newborns between 5–14 days old, while they’re still super sleepy and snuggly.
Booking early helps secure your spot and gives us plenty of time to plan something special! 💫
WILL YOU EDIT OUT ALL MY FLAWS?
I totally get it—being in front of the camera can feel a little nerve-wracking! My goal is to capture the real, beautiful you in the most flattering way possible.
I do light retouching on all final images—this includes things like softening skin, removing temporary blemishes, flyaway hairs, and anything that wouldn’t normally be there (like a stain on a shirt or a healing scratch).
That said, I believe in keeping things natural—so I won’t drastically alter your appearance. You are already enough, exactly as you are, and my editing style is all about enhancing, not changing.
If you have specific concerns, I’m always happy to chat before your session so we can make sure you feel confident and comfortable!
WHAT IF IT RAINS? OR ME/MY KIDS ARE SICK?
If the weather’s looking rainy for your outdoor session, I’ll keep an eye on the forecast and check in with you ahead of time. We can either reschedule to the next available date or move the session to my cozy home studio if that’s an option for you.
If you or your kids are sick, please don’t stress—just let me know as soon as you can. I’m more than happy to reschedule. I want everyone feeling their best so we can capture the moments that truly matter.
Your booking is flexible, and your wellbeing (and your little ones') always comes first!
CAN I BRING FAMILY TO MY MATERNITY SHOOT?
Yes, absolutely! Your maternity session is all about celebrating this special time—and that includes the people who mean the most to you.
Partners, kids, and even fur babies are more than welcome to join in! We’ll capture a mix of stunning solo shots of you and some beautiful family moments too. If you’re bringing little ones, I’ll help keep things fun and relaxed so everyone enjoys the experience.
Just let me know who’s coming along when you book, so I can plan the session to suit your family perfectly. 💛
Can I include my furry friend?
Yes, please! I absolutely love when pets join in on sessions—after all, they’re part of the family too! 🐾
Whether it’s a maternity shoot, family session, or even a couples session, your furry friend is more than welcome. Just give me a heads-up when you book so I can help plan a pet-friendly location and allow a little extra time for cuddles and chaos (the fun kind!).
Bonus tip: bring along some treats, a leash, and maybe a favourite toy to help get those perfect shots!
CAN I BRING SPECIAL PROPS/HEIRLOOMS TO THE SESSION?
Absolutely! If you have meaningful items like heirlooms, keepsakes, or any special props you'd like to incorporate into your session, I’d be honored to include them. Whether it's a family blanket, a tiny pair of shoes, or something that holds sentimental value, we can create beautiful memories with those items.
Just let me know ahead of time so we can plan how to best incorporate them into the shoot. I want your session to feel personal and reflect what’s important to you!
Do you offer prints and products?
Yes, I do! In addition to digital images, I offer a beautiful selection of prints, products, and wall art to help you preserve and display your memories. From stunning photo albums to canvas prints, framed photos, and acrylic displays, there’s something perfect for every space.
I’m passionate about helping you create tangible keepsakes that you’ll treasure for years to come. After your session, I’ll walk you through all the available options so you can select the perfect products for your home or as gifts for loved ones.
WE’D LOVE TO BOOK YOU, BUT ITS BIG CHUNK OUT OF OUR BUDGET
I completely understand, and I want to make sure you get the photos you love without feeling stressed about the cost. If my full session price is a bit out of your budget, we can chat about options that might work better for you.
I offer payment plans through myself and afterpay. We can also discuss mini session options that are more affordable while still giving you beautiful images to cherish. I want to make photography accessible, so let’s find a solution that works for your budget and your vision!
Feel free to reach out, and we can go over some flexible options.
